Eldik Bank is a conductor of climate investments in the Kyrgyz Republic
Eldik Bank took part in the UN Climate Change Conference COP29, which took place in Baku, Azerbaijan. As a leading financial institution in Kyrgyzstan in the field of sustainable development, Eldik Bank actively supports initiatives aimed at solving environmental and climate challenges.
The bank's delegation led by the Chairman of the Board of Eldik Bank OJSC Ulanbek Nogaev held a number of important meetings with the world's largest companies, international organizations and experts in the field of ecology and sustainable development.
At the COP29 site, the bank signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Green Finance Center Astana International Financial Center as part of the implementation of green bonds and green projects in the republic.
- “Eldik Bank is a conductor of climate investments in Kyrgyzstan,” says Ulanbek Nogaev. – As part of the implementation of “green” projects in the republic, the bank’s team held bilateral meetings with the leadership of the Green Climate Fund, the Adaptation Fund, the World Bank and UNDP, where the prospects for partnership were discussed with an emphasis on attracting investments for the implementation of climate projects in Kyrgyzstan. I would especially like to note that the Green Climate Fund expressed its readiness to support Eldik Bank and recognized us as a priority candidate for accreditation in the GCF.
Eldik Bank's participation in COP29 allowed the bank to declare its position as a leader in the climate sector in Kyrgyzstan and strengthen international ties, opening up new opportunities for introducing innovative approaches to ensuring sustainable development in Kyrgyzstan.
It should be noted that at the COP29 conference, Eldik Bank presented green products and initiatives developed and implemented in recent years. Among them are programs for financing renewable energy sources, projects to support small and medium-sized enterprises introducing “green” technologies. These efforts underscored the bank's commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and its contribution to global efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
