Eldik Bank Receives Certificate from UN Global Compact SDG Ambition Program
Eldik Bank received a certificate of achievement for leadership, setting ambitious goals and integrating sustainable development goals (SDGs) within the UN Global Compact accelerator.
Last week, the UN building in Almaty hosted a ceremony to award the winners of the SDG Ambition Acceleration Program of the UN Global Compact to achieve the SDGs, an innovative initiative to promote sustainable business practices.
The ceremony was attended by more than 30 companies from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
For the first time in the history of the UN Global Compact, Kyrgyzstan was represented by two companies. At the same time, Eldik Bank is the only financial institution in the republic that is a member of the UN Global Compact and the SDG Ambition Acceleration Program.
It is important to note that at the event, Eldik Bank was honored to present a project on setting ambitious goals.
Thanks to the successfully completed training, Eldik Bank was awarded a certificate of achievement for leadership, setting ambitious goals and integrating the SDGs within the UN Global Compact accelerator.
Presenting the certificate, the UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Kazakhstan Ms. Michael Friberg-Storey noted the impressive results of the bank's work on developing a roadmap for sustainable development.
In turn, the UN Global Compact Country Coordinator in the Republic of Kazakhstan Ms. Dinara Seidzhaparova added that the actions of RSK Bank indicate its leadership in Kyrgyzstan in the direction of sustainable development.
SDG Ambition is a six-month educational course specially developed by UN experts and partners to accelerate the integration of 17 Sustainable Development Goals into the strategic and operational activities of business companies.
This program was launched for the first time in the countries of Central Asia. More than 100 representatives of 40 companies from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan took part in the Accelerator. As a result, 62 representatives from 31 companies were able to successfully complete the training. Including Eldik Bank OJSC.
