Eldik Bank OJSC, as part of its work on conscious consumption, has been recycling its waste (plastic, waste paper, used ATMs, terminals and much more) at the Kant Tire Recycling Plant over the past years.

The enterprise operates using the pyrolysis method (smokeless waste disposal) and meets all international standards. This means that the plant does not emit harmful substances into the atmosphere.

Eldik Bank employees regularly take damaged plastic cards and other waste to the plant for recycling.

In April 2023, at the invitation of the bank, the company was also visited by Egemberdieva Gulshat, an expert on the development of the Waste Management Network in the Kyrgyz Republic - WasteNet.KG, of which the bank is a member.

Eldik Bank recycles plastic using green technology

Eldik Bank was one of the first banks in Kyrgyzstan to become the holder of a certificate of conformity and permission to apply eco-labels - the &ldquo;Best Waste Management Practice&rdquo; label.

Last Friday, a gala event was held to present the eco-labels Green Waste Leaders - 2023, organized by the International Waste Management Network in Kyrgyzstan WasteNet.kg.

The &ldquo;Best Recycle Practice&rdquo; label is an independent environmental label for best waste management practices through the introduction of separate waste collection within a company for subsequent transfer for recycling and reuse.

As one of the largest banks in the country, Eldik Bank integrates ESG principles into its activities, which include a number of priority areas, including conscious consumption.

What measures is the bank taking in this direction?

<ul>
	<li>Harmless disposal of all waste (plastic, waste paper, used ATMs, terminals, light bulbs and much more);</li>
	<li>Installation of eco-boxes in bank offices for waste sorting;</li>
	<li>Development of souvenir eco-products that are harmless to the environment;</li>
	<li>Transition to electronic document management in order to minimize waste;</li>
	<li>Continuous training of personnel on organizing a waste management system.</li>
</ul>

Receiving an eco-label once again proves that Eldik Bank is taking serious measures to preserve the ecology and environment.

Eldik Bank received the eco-label “Best Waste Management Practice”

Let&#39;s save the pearl of Kyrgyzstan - Lake Issyk-Kul!

Last Saturday, the staff of the Balykchy branch of Eldik Bank OJSC, together with divers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, took part in a large-scale cleanup event on the city beach &ldquo;Tolkun&rdquo; in Balykchy.

Our colleagues cleared the beach and the area adjacent to the shore of debris.

Divers collected debris and fishing nets from the bottom of Issyk-Kul.

All collected garbage was immediately sent for processing to the waste processing plant in Balykchy.

It should be noted that the cleanup work of the lake is carried out as part of the ESG strategy implemented by Eldik Bank.

We encourage local residents and all visitors to be respectful of our pearl and not to litter.&nbsp;

The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is an international initiative for business in the field of corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.&nbsp;Created in 2000, the UNGC has become an important tool for involving business in the formation and promotion of the concept of sustainable development.

- Today we are proud to announce that Eldik Bank has joined the UN Global Compact.&nbsp;&nbsp;This means our commitment to supporting the UN&#39;s sustainable development goals and initiatives. &ldquo;We undertake to bring our activities and strategies into line with ten generally accepted principles in the field of human rights, labor, the environment and the fight against corruption,&rdquo; says Ulanbek Nogaev, Chairman of the Board of Eldik Bank OJSC.

It is worth noting that Eldik Bank expresses its commitment to the above principles and is taking serious measures in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Thus, within the framework of the &ldquo;Agenda for Sustainable Development&rdquo;, an action plan for the implementation of ESG banking was approved, and 13 SDGs out of 17 available were adopted.

Today, the bank is working to implement the SDGs through the development and implementation of projects aimed at minimizing CO2, building renewable energy sources, implementing programs to ensure food security, preserving the country&rsquo;s water resources, supporting enterprises for processing recyclable materials, and much more.
